It's almost time for GBDC 2024: Jungle Journey!

Friday at Grace Bible Day Camp

Friday was the last day of kingdom exploration at Grace Bible Day Camp!

Our journey through the space-time continuum at Grace Bible Day Camp has begun! Just over 190 time travelers are probing the depths of science and imagination in our Time Lab. See a few pictures below from the first day!

We met our time keepers (counselors) and fellow time travelers for the week and divided into teams: Era Explorers vs. Time Trekkers. After learning our first song and watching our first installment of the GBDC Classic Players, we successfully completed our first morning rotation of snack, craft, games, and lesson. We did a science craft and made glitter and water vortexes!

The Time Trekkers and Era Explorers are already getting competitive. Morning game time was a little intense!

During lesson time, we traveled all the way back to 4000 BC to learn about Creation. Our memory verse was Colossians 1:16: "For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him."

In our Bible lesson, we learned that the Bible tells us that Jesus is God’s Son and God himself. He made time and lives outside of time, but he came into time at one point. Jesus is the most unique, fascinating, wonderful person who ever has or ever will live on earth. He created everything, including all the big stuff like the stars and the planets. He also created all the small things, like Flutter the Sparrow. The Bible tells us he knows about everything and cares about everything, even the smallest sparrow. Yet Jesus cares most of all about people! Jesus created you and loves you and cares very much about you.

Of all the people who have ever lived, ever led a religion, or ever claimed to be a deity, only Jesus has the credentials to deserve our worship and devotion.

Jesus always has been and always will be with us.

In the afternoon, we journeyed down to Bellflower Elementary for a team scavenger hunt. Then we learned how to unravel a human knot!
