Maturity Matters is a group of saints 60 years old and above who seek to practice the Titus 2 principle of the older teaching the younger. Titus 2:1-5 declares the important role of mature, godly saints in the local church. That's why at Grace Church of Mentor, our senior saints are prioritized and utilized for God’s glory.

Do you seek to discover your spiritual purpose in the body of Christ at this stage in your life? Our Maturity Matters fellowship is the place for you!

Bible Study

We gather together every Sunday morning to pray, bear one another’s burdens, and grow in the grace and knowledge of God.

Monthly Luncheon

We also meet once a month during the mid-morning hour for a Bible study luncheon where we are challenged in the Word of God toward Christ-likeness (and share a good bit of laughter too).

Fellowship

We also gather offsite on occasion at a restaurant or local park to hold our Bible studies and enjoy one another’s company.

Legacy

Outside our monthly meetings, we focus on our Biblical responsibility of ministering God's Word to the younger members and being examples of Godliness in a fallen world. We understand that we have a great opportunity to influence the younger generations!

Kevin and Sarah Sherman have been serving in Zambia since 2014. Kevin serves as a deacon at Faith Baptist Riverside, and both teach at Central Africa Baptist College. Kevin is also in the midst of a PhD program.

Puerto Rico

Melvin Purvis serves the Lord as Administrative Dean at Puerto Rico Baptist College in Bayamón, training young men for ministry. He was widowed in 2023 and recently recovered from a hip replacement surgery.
