The weather got a little wet today on Mystery Island, but we never let it dampen our spirits at Grace Bible Day Camp!

Tomorrow, all our parents and families are invited to a closing program at 4:45 p.m. and a picnic immediately afterwards. Hope you can join us!

Anyway, back to Thursday: Rain kept most of our morning rotations inside, but we were very thankful that it went away by the afternoon. What a great illustration of our almighty God!

In our morning assembly, we enjoyed another visit from Gnarly Marley who has been writing and teaching us songs every day. We decorated picture frames with seashells for today's craft, and played variations of tug-of-war and balancing games.

This afternoon, we went back to the park and played a huge game of human foosball.

Islanders discovered the best possible news in today's lesson. God is EMMANUEL. This means “God with us." We sinned against the great and almighty ruler. Instead of God destroying us, He made a way back to Him. This way was prophesied and foretold in the Old Testament. God would come as a man to sacrifice His life for us, who have rebelled against God. Our treasured verse sums it up perfectly: while we were sinners Christ still died for us. We don’t deserve Jesus. We are sinful, broken, and separated from God. Yet God in His love made a way of salvation. A way to be saved from His wrath against sinners. A way to be brought back to a right relationship with the God of the universe. Praise God for His love, mercy, and grace toward us!

Our treasured memory verse for the day was Romans 5:8: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
