Our church's expression of love to the Jacksons definitely made an impact!
What a special moment on Monday as our church family flooded the Jacksons' neighborhood with cars to express our love for Mr. Joe Jackson. At the end of February, he was diagnosed with lung cancer and told to expect only 2-3 more months on this earth. This happened just a couple weeks before large gatherings were cancelled and citizens in Ohio were told to "stay at home," so there wasn't much time to say goodbye with his church family in person.
Instead, at 6:30 on Monday night, a line of over 200 cars paraded past the Jacksons' home. Joe & Kathy sat in their driveway to wave and hear a loving message from each passing car. The pastors served as traffic directors, and it took over an hour for all the cars to pass!
The Jacksons were touched, and we loved getting to see each other from a distance, of course, but the impact went even deeper. Neighbors wondered what was going on, so a few church members had a chance to share why we love each other so much in Christ while they were waiting for their turn in line.
Several local news outlets heard of the parade and shared the good news story. Here's a link to an article by the News-Herald.
