January 7, 2024, was another significant day in Grace Church of Mentor history. We celebrated the Lord’s guidance for our church’s future in transitioning to our next senior pastor.

The day began with a Church Family Fellowship at 9 a.m. – a reception for Pastor Steve and the Sindelar family. We all enjoyed refreshments in the Fellowship Hall and looking at pictures of Pastor Steve during his many years at Grace, from attending as a teenager to serving as Youth Pastor. A journal was provided where the congregation could record special memories and encouragement with Pastor Steve as he assumes this new role. Pastor Tim Potter presented him and Charla with a custom plaque to commemorate the day, bearing the theme verse of 2 Timothy 2:2: "and what you
have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men."

Our worship service at 10 a.m. served as the formal installation of Pastor Steve as Senior Pastor. It was a poignant time to celebrate the Lord’s Table together, remembering His death on our behalf and the unity He provides. Pastor Kent and Pastor Tim shared messages with the congregation. All our elders led in song to close the service.
