Our friend Rose took an important step of obedience and was baptized on March 1. Her testimony was so outstanding, we had to share some of it.

I always had an interest in reading the Bible, but I found it difficult to understand. So it took me a long time, before I actually took reading the Bible seriously. I looked for Bible study classes in the Mentor area on the internet and found Grace Church.

She found a friend who already attended Grace and went with her to one of our Bible studies. She met other women who were welcoming and kind “and showed personal interest in me and what I was experiencing in my life.”

It was at the end of that first class, that I was saved. I acknowledged that I am a sinner and repented. I learned that we all are sinners and all fall short of the Glory of God. I confessed with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and that he died on the cross for my sins and the sins of all mankind; that He was buried and on the third day He rose from the dead according to the Scriptures. I never realized it before, but that is what is meant by the Gospel; the good news. I remember saying, “Is that all there is to it?” and she said yes.

At that moment, I felt a sense of peace come over me and I knew that I had been changed. I had heard people talk about being saved and born again and thought those were just words that church people made up; never realizing that those very words are written in the Bible.

Rose testifies that her family has seen the difference Jesus has made in her life. Being baptized gives her a chance to show that transformation to many more. “Baptism is an outward expression of my renewed life in Jesus,” she said. “Before I was saved, I felt I knew of Jesus; now I know Him.”
