It was an exciting Day 3 at Grace Bible Day Camp Junior!

Today, our memory verse was 1 John 4:14: "God sent His Son to be the Savior of the world."

We learned that there is only one human race, but there are two spiritual races — those who are part of God’s family and those who aren’t. Because this difference affects us for all of eternity, it is the biggest and most important difference among all people, not where we live or what we look like.

The Bible tells us we all are born as sinners and we choose to sin (Romans 3:23)—we lie, cheat, fuss about things we don’t like, are unkind to others, etc. In the beginning, God said that the wages, or payment, for sin is death (Romans 6:23). God is holy and perfect, so our sin separates us from Him and we won’t go to heaven when we die. Instead, we will be separated forever from God’s goodness in a terrible place called hell and then the Lake of Fire. This is a horrible situation to be in!

But there’s really, really good news! God has a plan to rescue us—JESUS! God sent Jesus to earth as a human baby. He was fully God but also fully human. He lived a perfect life, never sinning even once. He died on a cross to take the punishment we deserved for our sin, and then He rose from the dead, showing that God had accepted His sacrifice. Jesus did all this because He loves you and wants you to be part of God’s family.

When you turn from your sin, which is called repenting, believe in Jesus and what He did for you by His death and resurrection, and ask to be His child, you become a Christian and are part of God’s family. Our "ABC" bracelets help us remember how to do this!

At the end of the Bible, we see people who are part of God’s family gathered around His throne—people from every nation, tribe, people, and language. What a great reminder that since God treats people from different tribes and nations and languages with love and kindness, then while we’re here on earth, we should treat all people with love and kindness, too!

Check out some pictures of our day below. We enjoyed a yummy snack time, played more games outside, and heard Bible lessons from our teachers in multi-cultural attire. We loved coloring (and wearing) our own Chinese New Year hats too!

Thursday is our last day of junior camp! We will wrap up the week tomorrow with a closing program at 11:40 a.m. to show our parents what we've been learning. Afterwards, there will be a picnic for all our racers and their families. We hope you can all stay!
