Glory Team Updates

Our One Legacy teams give rotating monthly updates to keep the congregation informed. Below is the Glory team's progress update for March.
The Glory team's vision statement: We will carefully plan to expand and advance our physical assets and oversee souls according to our church mission statement.
Funding for Construction Documents
As we continue to pursue the One Legacy goals, I thought it would be helpful to review where we stand with our first goal of $800,000 to begin the drawings of our construction documents for the first phase of building a new auditorium, fellowship space, classrooms, and additional parking space.
We are currently at $740,000. In the new few months we will be “pulling the trigger”! This process will take a 4-5 months, but will be well worth it because the construction documents are the detailed plans for the site work and the building. Our final budget will come from them, and our initial permit approvals will be granted using them as well.
God, in His timing, has brought up an additional opportunity — the Adkins Road property. This property is currently owned by Laketran; however, they have been unable to develop the property as desired. It looks like they are considering selling the property. If you remember, this property has been a long-time goal for Grace Church of Mentor to own for the following reasons:
- It is undeveloped, so we can design a building from scratch (a more efficient disciple-making building)!
- It has easier egress and ingress—not directly onto SR 306, but off of Adkins Rd.
- The location has much higher visibility (intersection of Rt 2 and SR 306).
- The property is over 17 undeveloped acres with almost 7 undeveloped acres adjacent to it we can potentially acquire.
A lot needs to happen, and there are some things going on behind the scenes, so please be in prayer for the potential to purchase. Nothing final will happen without congregational approval (and yes, going this direction would impact the Construction Documents). It will be interesting to see what God has for us in 2018!
