Our One Legacy teams give rotating monthly updates to keep the congregation informed. Below is the Glory team's update for the month of April.
The Glory team's vision statement: We will carefully plan to expand and advance our physical assets and oversee souls according to our church mission statement.
Looking Ahead to Our Next Building
We continue towards our goal of providing more worship and disciple-making space for the near and long term. The building animation presents the vision for 14 acres at Adkins Road. This vision can be built in phases, if necessary.
Here are some basic facts about the building. Where helpful, we’ve separated out phase 1 from phase 2 to distinguish our ability to provide for short-term and long-term ministry needs. Phase 1 will consist of an auditorium, fellowship hall, café, disciple-making spaces for all ages (informal and formal classroom), and offices.
The auditorium would initially seat 750. This is 300 more seats than our current capacity of 450. As God continues to grow our church family, there are eight large classrooms in the back of the auditorium that can be converted to seating, for a total of 1,300.
The lobby/fellowship hall will have disciple-making nooks and a café. To put the scale of the fellowship hall in perspective, it is roughly double the size of our current auditorium, at about the same width but twice as long. It will be able seat 545 at tables and chairs. The two-story fellowship hall is designed to be the hub of activity with plenty of space to fellowship. All aspects of our church family will be connected to this space: our worship, Bible study classrooms, nursery, gym, and office spaces.
Phase 1 will be nearly 60,000 square feet (compared to our current 30,000). This would provide 15 classrooms and ample nursery space for infant thru preschool (compared to our current 10 classrooms and at-capacity nursery space). Phase 2 would add 23,000 square feet and include 21 additional classrooms and a gym. (Remember, however, as we expand the auditorium, we will remove some of the phase 1 classrooms.)
Continue to pray and consider what you will do as God leads us on our next steps!
