Friday was the last day of kingdom exploration at Grace Bible Day Camp!

The final day of our kingdom quest was a blast! We put all the armor of God together to have the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and sword of the Spirit. The shield helps block the darts of the devil who tries to weaken us in our spiritual warfare. The helmet of our salvation is what keeps us secure! No matter the fight, we are safe in salvation unto the end. Finally, the sword is our offensive weapon, and we use that by walking in the Spirit, in the Word of God. Troops did an amazing job this week learning the armor of God so they can be properly equipped in God’s kingdom.

Our memory verse today was Ephesians 6:16-17: "Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one, and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword the Spirit, which is the word of God."

We did our last rotation in the morning of games, craft, snack, and lesson. We made picture frames to remember our time as Keepers of the Kingdom and listened well to one final lesson. In the afternoon, we went to a bigger park and took a whole-camp photo. Our games were delayed for a little bit by rain, but thankfully it passed quickly so we could play dodgeball and enjoy a GBDC Friday tradition: slip-and-slide!

Once we got back to the great assembly hall, we welcomed our parents and siblings to our final closing assembly. Our now-seasoned troops showed their families all the verses and songs they learned this week, then we all enjoyed a picnic feast together. It was an incredibly close contest all week, with both the Red Raiders and Navy Knights doing excellent work reciting memory verses. In the end, the Red Raiders came out on top!

We're so thankful to have met all of you, and we'd love to see you again for one of our regular meetings at church!
