Our teens have been busy this summer serving Christ and others!

Fifteen teens and their fearless leader, Pastor Steve, traveled to Round Rock, Texas, where they had the opportunity to run a Vacation Bible School for Pastor Jeremy Van Delinder and North Hills Baptist Church. Around 50 children came in the course of the week. The teens did outstanding job teaching, leading crafts, providing a snack, and playing games. A picnic at the end of the week gave a great chance to interact with families. Five families were serious about coming to visit the church at the end of the week! Please pray for North Hills as they follow up.

In the afternoons, the team also some opportunities to see some sights in the area -- including the nation's largest urban bat cave underneath a bridge, the capitol city of Austin, the Alamo and a beautiful river walk in San Antonio.

In July, thirteen teens along with Pastor Kent, Sandy Martz, and Pastor Steve went on a one-day trip to help Pastor Brian Stutz at Victory Baptist Church in Canal Fulton. The church recently purchased an old building for their church and are in the process of completely renovating it. A crew from another church put on a new roof, then our team's task was to demolish the main floor where the auditorium will be and the basement where Sunday school and nursery rooms will be.

The teens took sledgehammers and flat bars and knocked down several rooms and hallways. They finished more work than Pastor Brian thought any team could do in one day. They went through two and a half dumpster loads and had to stop because they ran out of dumpster space!

Both of these trips demonstrate what Paul stresses in Philippians -- the absolute necessity and value of the church coming together and partnering in the Gospel. Just as the teens were able to directly sow the seed of the Gospel in Texas, they were able to strive together in Canal Fulton so that the Gospel eventually will be proclaimed.
